Machanic, President & General Manager Bruce Machanic has been with the corporation since 1991 and serves as the President and General Manager. He is a Virginia licensed real estate broker. Prior to MRE Properties, Mr. Machanic worked for Lehman Brothers in investment banking in New York. For the last ten years, Mr. Machanic has gained extensive knowledge of the commercial real estate business including asset and property management, finance, construction, and leasing. Mr. Machanic also serves as a Director of the Old Town North Partnership and is a member of the Urban Design Advisory Committee. He has served as a Director of the Port Royal Condominium Association. Mr. Machanic received his BA in economics from Columbia University and resides in Alexandria, Virginia. Darrie H. Richards, Ret. Maj. Gen., Vice President, Chairman Following a long and decorated career in the military, Gen. Richards has been involved in various elements of real estate for over twenty-five years. He is currently a licensed real estate broker and serves as the Chairman of the Corporation. Gen. Richards served as the President of the Montgomery Corporation and the Montgomery Real Estate Corporation, predecessors to MRE Properties, from 1976 through 1991. Gen. Richards' real estate experience includes investment opportunity location and acquisition, development, and property management. Gen. Richards received his BS from the US Military Academy, and his MS from Princeton University. Gen. Richards resides in Alexandria, Virginia. Roger Machanic, Treasurer, Director Mr. Machanic served as the President of the Corporation from 1991 until 1998, and has been a licensed real estate broker since 1965. Mr. Machanic was the founder and former owner of Development Resources, Inc. (DRI) from 1965-1983, a commercial and residential development company. Mr. Machanic is a Past President of the Alexandria Building Industry Association, the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, a former Vice President of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and a former Chairman of First Commonwealth Savings & Loan. Mr. Machanic received his BA in economics from Harvard University and resides in Alexandria, Virginia. Elizabeth Frommer, Office Manager Ms. Frommer began her real estate career over twenty-five years ago as a project manager at DRI. She now runs the daily operations of MRE Properties, oversees record keeping and staff, and assists in tenant/vendor relations. Ms. Frommer resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
